Introduction to Ball Screw Support EKEF

The ball screw support EKEF is a standardized precision transmission component, composed of an EK fixed end and an EF support end. It is mainly used to support and fix both ends of ball screws, trapezoidal screws, splines and other parts requiring rotational support. As a key component for high-precision positioning and stable transmission in modern automated equipment and precision machine tools, it suits medium-to-high precision and small-to-medium load scenarios, balancing easy installation and reliable performance.


Component Division and Core Functions

The EKEF adopts a classic "fixed end + support end" structure. These two parts work together to ensure transmission accuracy, compensate for deformation under working conditions, and meet general transmission requirements:

(1) EK Fixed End

Its core function is to limit the ball screw’s axial movement and provide rigid support to eliminate axial clearance. Equipped with preload-adjusted angular contact ball bearings internally, it adopts DF (face-to-face) or DFD configuration and is compatible with C1-C7 grade ball screws. It balances high rigidity and low torque, and can absorb parallelism installation errors between the screw and guide rail to enhance operational smoothness.

(2) EF Support End

As a floating end, it provides flexible rotational support for the screw. It compensates for axial expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes and load fluctuations, preventing jamming and precision loss. Fitted with deep groove ball bearings, it is suitable for scenarios with small axial forces. Combined with a dedicated sealing structure, it forms a complete support system with the EK fixed end and can also be paired with other fixed end models.

The EK fixed end uses JIS Class 5 or P0 grade angular contact ball bearings. Ultra-small models such as EK6 and EK8 are equipped with 45° contact angle miniature bearings to boost rigidity and rotational precision. The EF support end is matched with suitable deep groove ball bearings, and overall geometric tolerances are strictly controlled to ensure the equipment’s precise positioning and efficient transmission.

With a miniaturized design, it fits compact installation spaces. The EK series is fixed vertically to the screw axis with two screws, and the shoulder reserves ample passing space for easy layout of surrounding components. Its installation dimensions are compatible with international brands such as THK, NSK and Rexroth, facilitating replacement, maintenance and bulk procurement. Preload adjustment and grease filling are completed before delivery, allowing direct assembly without additional processing and greatly reducing installation time and difficulty.

(4) Reliable Sealing and Long Service Life

All models are equipped with dust-proof and waterproof oil seals, filled with high-quality lithium soap-based grease, and sealed with special gaskets. This effectively blocks dust, impurities and moisture, extending the bearing’s service life and reducing lubrication and maintenance frequency. 1. Working Condition Matching: Select bearings based on the equipment’s load type (axial force, radial force) and operating speed.
